My thoughts are that to Google, it doesn't really pay for its services to be available only on a particular network (unless there are kickbacks).
I would like to think the safaricom is a start, and this service will eventually stretch to the other networks.
I stand to be corrected though!

Surprisingly the free sms on google / gmail cannot be sent to zain lines until further notice. The message is so clear.
"Your message was not delivered. 073********* is on a mobile carrier that is not supported at this time."
Could this be another ploy to popularize a carrier that has always taken lead.
Ok. Whose idea was it? If it was Safaricom's idea to google then I would understand. If it was google's idea to the carriers then I don't think zain and the rest refused to be involved.
Who knows more of this??????????????????????????
