Nothing new. while google was negotiating with local carries on providing web-to-cell sms Airtel and Zain were still sorting their buyout.
Of course it is Google's idea and was announced during G-Kenya boot camp held earlier in the month at Strathmore school.
Just a matter of time before you can send texts to Airtel, YU etc
